Job Skills Training Programs To enhance the competitiveness of employers and increase access to jobs for low-income, low-skilled Chicagoans, LEED Council: Conducts green skills training, such as weatherization, green maintenance, carpentry for energy efficiency, and solar panel installation through our new Green Careers Pathways Program to prepare people for emerging jobs in the green economy. Provides access to technology, basic computer skills classes, and advanced Microsoft Office Suite training and certification in our Computer Technology Center for trainees and workers to gain marketable skills and advance in their jobs. Provides job placement and retention assistance to trainees; and for employers, delivers customized recruitment, training and job placement services, and assistance in obtaining public funding for training. LEED Council offers job skills training programs for disadvantaged unemployed and underemployed residents of the Chicago metropolitan area, including CHA residents and relocatees. We also provide training for incumbent workers to upgrade their skills. For employers, LEED Council can provide customized recruitment, screening, job matching and customized training with assistance in applying for public funding. |
